About

I was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland and began my flute studies with Prof.Doris Keogh at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, Dublin. At the age of 19, I commenced my undergraduate flute studies with Karen Jones at Trinity College of Music, London. After 2 years of wonderful lessons with Karen Jones, I continued my studies with Wissam Boustany for a further two years and graduated in the summer of 2003 (BMus Hons.) I then went on to The Royal Conservatoire, The Hague, Holland to do a post graduate year of study. I studied under Rien de Reede and Emily Beynon and after a year, returned to London.

On return to London, I had the pleasure of playing with the following orchestras as an ‘extra’ musician – Philharmonia, London Chamber Orchestra, London Sinfonia, RTE Concert Orchestra and RTE Symphony Orchestra.

I have taught flute at numerous schools in London – Finton House Prep School, Surbiton High and St.Thomas’ Battersea and Graveney to name a few. I was also a member of the music teaching staff for Wandsworth Music Service for over 12 years. I thoroughly enjoy my teaching work and have taught students of all abilities and ages from complete beginner to Diploma and beyond and also enjoy running flute workshops and masterclass sessions in collaboration with other flautists from around the U.K.

I relocated from London to Exeter in the summer of 2014 and love Devon life!
I currently teach flute and recorder at Exeter Cathedral School and St Peter's Prep School, Lympstone.
